Motor Vehicle Licensing Center

Description

The Licensing Center is responsible for serving the public and dealers in the areas of motor vehicle, driver licensing, snowmobile, watercraft & recreational ATV, ORV & OHM transactions.

Motor Vehicle Transactions:

• Renewals - in person or by mail
• Transfers
• First time titling of new vehicles
• New to state registrations and transfers
• Duplicate title, plates and tabs
• Special license plate applications (personalized, collector, etc.)
• Disability certificates
• Prorate (interstate truck registration) by appointment only
• Expedited titles

Drivers License Transactions:

• Renewals
• Instruction Permits
• Identification Cards
• Duplicate licenses (lost, name change, etc.)
• Expedited drivers licenses

*** Driver exams offered in Thief River Falls on Mondays only, at the state DOT building. For appointments or additional information call 218-681-0966 on Mondays only.

DNR Transactions:

• Snowmobile, watercraft, ATV, ORV & OHM
• New registrations, renewals, duplicates & transfers
• All registrations are valid for three(3) years

Enclose in your envelope:

1. The Motor Vehicle Registration Renewal(s)
2. A check for the correct $$$ amount. Your Driver License number and phone number must be included on your check to ensure delivery.
3. Make sure your address is correct. An SASE is optional.
4. Verify this is the correct vehicle.
5. It is your responsiblity to verify all information is correct to ensure renewals are processed and delivered.
